Toyota lifted the veil on the the latest version of their popular hybrid, the 2017 Prius Prime.
Touted as “the most technologically advanced hybrid in the world”, the new car boasts the best hybrid MPG, the best driving range of 600+ miles, and the best MPGe at 120+ miles… of any plug-in in the world.
For this new Prius Prime, Toyota optimized the size of the 8.8 kilowatt-hour lithium battery, shaving critical weight, while making it able to charge faster, even through a standard household.
As for the exterior, it sports a striking new front-end, upgraded with quad LED headlights and DRLs, while the rear is illuminated with “a techy LED glow,” says Bill Fay, Group Vice President and General Manager of Toyota. It also features a Toyota-first carbon fiber rear hatch to save even more weight, while embracing a unique dual-wave rear glass to reduce drag.
Inside, Toyota offers a number of luxe features like standard heated front seats and Premium JBL Audio and Qi wireless charging, as well as fold-down seats, and comfortable seating for four full-size adults.
The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime is slated to hit dealers later this year.
