Craig Sager, known for his colorful outfits and sideline reporting on TNT NBA games, was diagnosed with cancer back in April 2014 and has been fighting ever since. However, it appears he may be losing the battle, because doctors have given him just 3-6 months to live.
In an interview with HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumble Sager says he has acute myeloid leukemia, and despite the prognosis, hasn’t given up hope.
“Uncharted waters [is next]. I’ve already had two stem-cell transplants. Very rarely, does somebody have a third. I have to maintain my strength, so I can go through this,” Sager said. “Still kicking, still fighting. I haven’t won the battle. It’s not over yet, but I haven’t lost it either. I still have to fight it and I have a lot of work to do.”
