Dell XPS 15: Our Favorite Features

Dell XPS 15

While the MacBook Pro remains atop most lists for popular laptops, Dell’s XPS line is kicking ass and taking names.

Most recently, the company introduced its latest marvel: the Dell XPS 15. It’s the smallest 15-inch laptop on the market… And with the world’s first InfinityEdge display.

With a beautiful aesthetic, Dell offers a MacBook alternative to Windows users with this stunning new machine. We’ve highlighted some of the reasons we love the new Dell XPS 15… by running down our favorite features.

1. Size. A mentioned, it’s the smallest 15-inch laptop on the planet. Thanks to its virtually borderless InfinityEdge display, Dell was able to squeeze a 15.6-inch display into a laptop closer to the size of a 14-inch. Oh… and it weighs in at just under four pounds and is just 11-17mm thin. With specs like these, it’s a perfect option for an on-the-go work station.

2. The details. The Dell XPS is crafted with premium materials for maximum durability. It sports machined aluminum for the outer shell, which is cut from a single block, making it both strong and durable, while inside, you are greeted with an eye-catching carbon fiber palm rest that is soft to the touch. And finally, edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass is used for the 4K Ultra HD display. So, not only does it look stunning, but is as durable as it gets.

3. 4K HD clarity. As with its smaller brother (the XPS 13), the 15-inch XPS sports a stunning high-resolution display, offering up to UltraSharp Quad HD qualty for eye-popping clarity and details. It boasts 8 million pixels, which is seven times that of a standard HD display. The result is brilliant colors and crisp imagery.

4. Performance, performance, performance. For such as compact machine, the XPS 15 is packed with power — inclduing a Quad Core precessor with up to 16GB; bandwidth of 2133MHz, 1.3 times the speed of 1600GHz options; NVIDIA® GeForceTM GTX 960M graphics with 2GB of GDDR5 memory for horsepower under the hood; and ample story of up to 1TB in either hard drive or solid state drive formats.

The Dell XPS 15 is available now at retailers and online, starting at $999, all the way up to $2,100 for the Touch model.
