New Orleans Saints cornerback Damian Swann was arrested on Friday (March 18) on speeding and reckless driving charges in Athens, GA, reports ESPN.
According to the police report, Swann was clocked at 100 mph in a 65 mph zone at 2:17 a.m.
He was first clocked at 81 mph, before his speed rose to 100 as he passed a vehicle, says the report. Then, after being pulled over and asked to exit the vehicle, he did so willingly… before telling the officer of two handguns in his possession, both of which he had proper permits for.
Swann was arrested and charged with reckless driving.
The 23-year-old had a promising start to his rookie year for the Saints last season, after being chosen as a fifth-round draft pick out of Georgia. However, after a trio of concussions, he was ultimately placed on injured reserve.
