Finally! Xbox Live users and now compete with players on other platforms, including PlayStation 4 and the PC.
On its Xbox blog, Microsoft announced Monday (March 14) that it will open up the Xbox Live online platform, which allows gamers to play online through an Xbox One or Xbox 360, to every platform.
“First, in addition to natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, we’re enabling developers to support cross-network play as well,” the blog reads. “This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks — including other console and PC networks.”
So, this means players between the Xbox, PlayStation and PC are will be able to play together online — including popular titles like Call of Duty and Destiny, among others.
