Following countless feuds and controversial posts, Azealia Banks has deleted her Twitter account.
The Harlem rapper made the announcement sometime this week, before deleting the account.
“Okay, today I’m finally making the decision to eject from social media,” Banks tweeted. “American media culture is honestly so f*cking disgusting and junky and complaining about it is not going to change it.
“Reading sh*t, seeing stupid ass articles and dumb bitches/bros has just really filled me up with a lot of bad feelings,” she continued. “It’s been a great couple of years, sharing opinions and having conversations, but I think I will be much happier just NOT looking at this.”
Before signing off, Banks offered some insults to her fellow Americans. “It’s time for me to say goodbye once and for all,” she wrote. “Just because I am American doesn’t mean I have to subject myself to such tastelessness. Americans have the WORST taste in everything. So my friends, it’s time to say goodbye once and for all to this account. This account will exist no more. Time for a bit of mystery… Goodbye.”
Banks does have an Instagram account, with her last post coming on Tuesday (May 6), so she may continue her presence there. So, stay tuned…
