Although the Patriots lost in the AFC Championship Game, they have not lost confidence in quarterback Tom Brady.

New England and Brady have agreed to a two-year contract extension that will keep the NFL star locked up through the 2019 season, reports ESPN.

Brady had two years left on his contract, paying him $9 million in 2016 and $10 million in 2017. His salary-cap charge for 2016 would’ve been a team-high $15 million, but the extension likely will lower that number.

If the deal plays out, the 39-year-old could very well play into his 40s. Last fall, he said he wants to play for another 10 years.
