Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol is out indefinitely, after suffering a broken right foot, the team said in a statement Tuesday.
“Marc is a cornerstone of our franchise, and we are focused on getting him healthy,” Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said in the release. “Marc will be out indefinitely and a further update will be provided after the All-Star Break.”
It’s currently unknown how and when the injury occurred, but Gasol left the line-up of the team’s Monday night game against Portland Trail Blazers with a right foot injury… and did not return.
Gasol’s injury is a big blow to the Grizzlies, who currently rank fifth in the West… with a 30-22 record.
This season, he’s started all 52 games season and is averaging 16.6 points, 7 rebounds and 1.35 blocks.
