Star Wars

Sorry Star Wars fans, Episode VIII has been pushed back.

Lucasfilm and Disney announced this week that the Rian Johnson-helmed follow-up to The Force Awakens has been moved from its original date of May 2017 to Dec. 15, 2017 instead.

While Disney offered no reason for the delay, rumors recently pointed to writer-director Rian Johnson, who is taking over for J.J. Abrams, will be rewriting the script.

Production is set to begin next month in London.

Still, Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spin-off Rogue One drops Dec. 16, so hopefully it can hold you over.
