Everyone’s got Powerball fever, as the jackpot hits $1.5 billion as of press time. And, it’s not just the poor or middle-class who are dreaming of striking it rich… the rich are trying their luck as well.
NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony recently revealed that he purchased some Powerball tickets, reports the New York Daily News.
This guy signed a $124 million contract with the Knicks, but apparently, is hoping for more.
During an interview with reporters this week, Melo said he bought tickets, but didn’t reveal how many tickets. When asked why, he replied: “Why not?”
“I don’t think I’m going to ever get hit by an asteroid. I don’t think I’m ever going to be President. I might have a better chance to win Powerball,” he said.
Melo also went on to explain that, if if he wins, he won’t buy the Knicks, but instead, will share the wealth. “I’m going to share it all,” he said.
The odds are against him and all of us though… to the tune of 1 in 292.2 million. Good luck.
