Just six months after its launch, Apple Music has hit 10 million subscribers, according to Fortune.
The music-streaming service launched on June 30 with a three-month free trial. While not many continued the service after the trial, Apple Music built up its numbers in the months after… and subscriptions continue to rise.
In comparison, the milestone took six years for Spotify to reach. However, as of June, Spotify was the leading streaming service with 20 million subscribers.
The report says music streaming is quickly pushing out downloads. In 2014, streaming demand rose by 50%, while album downloads and individual song downloads fell by 9% and 12%, respectively.
