Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is out for the season, after suffering an MCL sprain to his right knee, reports ESPN.
The rookie quarterback suffered the injury during his team’s loss to the New England Patriot on Sunday (Dec. 20).
Despite sources, Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey said Monday that Mariota has not been ruled out for the season.
This season, Mariota — the No. 2 pick in the 2015 draft — threw for 2,818 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The Titans are 3-11 this season, and miss the playoffs.
