15-year-old skater/Youtube star Steven Fernandez has been arrested on suspicion of soliciting a minor for sex.
According to the L.A. Times, the teen nicknamed “Baby Scumbag” was arrested back in November — alongside his manager Jose Barajas, 22, and pro-skater Keelan Dadd, 27 — for soliciting sex with a 12-year-old.
The victim told authorities that Fernandez called her over to a car in the San Fernando Valley on Nov. 13. He then told the girl he would introduce her to celebrities and put her in an upcoming “MTV special” if she engaged in sexual acts with the three men.
Following the incident, the victim’s mother found out and informed police, who then set up a sting, with an undercover posing as the 12-year-old, arranging by text message to meet the suspects in an abandoned home for sex.
As a result of that sting operation, Fernandez was arrested and booked on suspicion of procuring a child to engage in a lewd act, as well as lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. He has since been released to his mother’s custody and ordered to wear an ankle tracker.
His attorney, Ryan D’Ambrosio, says his client had been taken advantage of. “Steven is just as much of a victim as the other minor involved. We feel that his celebrity status was preyed upon by these adults,” said D’Ambrosio.
Both Barajas and Dadd were booked on the same charges and released on bail.
Dadd’s attorney tells TMZ he was not present during any of the events and had no knowledge of the allegations being made.
In a statement on Twitter, Dadd declared his innocence, writing: “I ask that you please hold your juddgement of me until all the facts come to light and the truth is uncovered. I am innocent. I could, nor would I ever, do any of the things that are being alleged. To those of you who have reached out offering support, words cannot express my graitude.
