New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount is out for the rest of the NFL season with a hip injury, reports ESPN.
Blount suffered the injury in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, marking yet another key player to go down for the Pats.
The 29-year-old rushed for a team-leading 703 yards and six touchdowns this season, and was a key contributor in the team’s Super Bowl run last season. Still, the Pats are in first place, with an 11-2 record, and clinched a postseason berth Sunday.
Starting left tackle Nate Solder and running back Dion Lewis are also out for the remainder of the season, and star receiver Julian Edelman is out indefinitely with a broken foot.
