UFC president Dana White said this week that the promotion intends to book an immediate rematch between former female champ Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm.
During an appearance on Mike & Mike on Thursday (Dec. 3), White said the rematch is still the plan for the UFC, though he did not specify a date.
“I think that if we didn’t make the rematch, me and [UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta] should probably lose our promoter’s license,” White said. “That’s the fight that’s going to happen. That’s the fight.
“Ronda Rousey has gone undefeated; she’s taken the sport to another level and beaten the best women in the world in 14 seconds, 30 seconds. She deserves a rematch. Holly agrees she deserves a rematch. We’ll figure it out.”
Holm (10-0) shocked the world in November, when she upset Rousey (12-1) via knockout with a left head kick.
