Although there was talk of Johnny Manziel starting at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday (Nov. 1), Josh McCown will remain as the starter, reports ESPN.

McCown suffered shoulder and rib injuries last weekend, and was limited in practice this week, but on Friday (Oct. 30), said he "felt better" after throwing.

However, Browns coach Mike Pettine said Friday that McCown is still day-to-day.

McCown is having one of the best seasons of his 13-year career. This season, he's thrown for 1,686 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions through six games with a 96.1 passer rating.

Manziel remains the back-up.
