Introducing Mezcal El Silencio

While most of us are familiar with tequila, Mezcal is a tasty alternative we've yet to hear of. Here's the difference: Unlike tequila agave, mezcal agave is roasted in underground pits, which results in its signature "smoky" flavor.

With that said, we introduce El Silencio, a brand that delivers artisanal Mezcal, hand-crafted in San Baltazar Guelavila, Oaxaca, Mexico.

Its product -- which consists of either Espadín and Joven -- is organic, produced without additives or industrial processes. The result is a craft spirit of the highest quality with an infinite range of flavors, dimensions, and character.

El Silencio Joven is their super premium blend, which boasts an aroma of sun-dried vegetables, leather, dried fruit and sweet smoke, as well as the taste of white pepper, jasmine, fennel, and spices. The finish is lightly charred with touches of tobacco, minerals, and chile.

Their Espadín is touted as "the most versatile premium Mezcal on the market." It poossesses a smoke, ash, and baking spices aroma with the taste of roasted figs, sweet potatoes, and charred stone fruit. The finish is predominately white pepper, bell pepper, and a myriad of baking spices.

Both are best enjoyed as a mixer for cocktails or for sipping all on its own.

El Silencio is available now online, or at select bars/restaurants and retailers.
