Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith has been ruled out of the team’s forthcoming game against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 11.
Coach John Harbaugh told Comcast SportsNet on Saturday (Oct. 3) that Smith has “some small microfractures in his back,” but hopes he’ll return after the Browns game.
Pain will be a factor in determining how soon Smith will return.
Smith’s absence is a major blow for the 1-3 Ravens, being that he’s been their only consistent playmaker on offense. He is Baltimore’s leading receiver with 29 catches for 373 yards and two touchdowns, while all other Ravens receivers have totaled 25 receptions for 292 yards and one touchdown.
Currently, the Ravens’ only healthy receivers are Kamar Aiken, Marlon Brown, Darren Waller and Chris Givens, who the team acquired from St. Louis on Saturday.
