Mercedes-Benz recently invited us out to New York City to get an up-close look at their new supercar, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S.

An "achievement of intense passion and beauty for the senses," the two-door powerhouse is the brand's introduction into the sports car segment. It boasts a front-mid engine design, powered by an all-new AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, good for a top speed of 193 mph, while allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 in just 3.7 seconds and boast a top speed of 193 mph. This, coupled with a lightweight body and slick styling, make the GT S one of the sexiest sports cars on the market.

From Mercedes' Manhattan showroom, Mercedes-AMG product manager Branden Cote gave us a walk-around of the new vehicle and offers some of the main details of the beautiful GT S.

Some of the impressive highlights include a 5-mode AMG Dynamic Select, boasting multiple driver selectable suspension and steering modes (including Race Mode); ceramic brakes; aluminum spaceframe construction, making it extreme lightweight; a luxurious interior with a number of trim options, alongside Nappa leather; and much more.

The 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S starts at $129,900 USD, and is available now at Mercedes dealers. For more info, visit MBUSA.com.
