Fat Joe recently revealed that he had a shot at signing Eminem in the past… which is one of his greatest regrets.
“Man I got so many regrets,” the rapper told the South China Morning Post. “The biggest is that Eminem gave me so many demos, six different times he approached me and I didn’t sign him. Shame on me.”
Everyone knows how the story goes from there. Em eventually signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label in 1998… and the rest is history.
Joe did, however, sign one of the greatest Latino rappers ever … in the late Big Pun, who would be the first to garner a platinum album in 1998 with Capital Punishment. It included the hits “I’m Not a Player,” “Still Not a Player” and “Twinz (Deep Cover 98),” a collaboration with Fat Joe.
