Actor Marcc Rose, who portrays Tupac in the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, is set to play the late rap icon in the standalone biopic helmed by director John Singleton.
“Me and John Singleton are trying to brainstorm and form together a proper biopic for him,” he revealed, during an interview with Yahoo! Movies.
The 23-year-old actor said that more details about the Tupac movie would come out after the N.W.A. film’s release.
When asked if Straight Outta Compton might coincide with the Tupac biopic, Rose replied: “Maybe there’s a sequel.”
Rose goes on to explain that he was actually originally attached to the first Tupac biopic. “When Singleton exited so did I,” he wrote via email. “If the rights to the biopic are returned to Pac’s mom, Afeni Shakur, John Singleton and I will be reassociated with it.”
