Rapper The Game has pleaded not guilty in court for punching and threatening an off-duty police officer during a basketball game back in March.

According to the LA Times, the rapper (real name: Jayceon Taylor) is facing one felony count of making criminal threats and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery.

He pleaded not guilty in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday (August 10), and if convicted, faces up to three years in prison.

Game and the off-duty police officer got into a heated argument during the game, and the rapper eventually punched him in the face and allegedly threatened to kill him.

The officer, identified as Onyebuchi Awaji, has since filed a lawsuit against Game, claiming he suffered serious bodily harm.
