After owning the summer with a string of breakout hits, Fetty Wap will finally drop this debut album this fall.
According to the Associated Press, the New Jersey rapper’s still untitled project is scheduled for release September 25, just days before the deadline for Grammy eligibility.
“I’m just waiting for it to get mixed and mastered,” Wap said. “My album been done for like two months now.”
The report says Lyor Cohen, who signed Wap to 300 Entertainment, didn’t want to rush out an album.
“Our industry is lacking on a wholesale level of artist development… and we feel that [Wap is] just so brilliant and has developed this new style, new sound,” said Cohen.
Wap currently has two top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 — “Trap Queen” and “My Way” — while a third, “679,” sits at No. 17.
