“Fantastic Four” Reboot Debuts In Second Place At Box Office

The Fantastic Four reboot bombed at the box office, falling to second in its debut weekend to last weekend's top film, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.

The superhero reboot opened in second place, earning an estimated $26.2 million. Less than half of what the previous two Fantastic Four movies made during their debut weekends. The film, which stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, had a budget of $120 million.

Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation topped topped the box office for the second weekend in a row, earning $29.4 million for a domestic total of $108.6 million.

The Jason Bateman-Joel Edgerton thriller, The Gift, debuted in third place with $12 million, while Ricki and the Flash, featuring Meryl Streep as a rock musician, opened in seventh place with $7 million.

Vacation landed at #4 with $9.1 million, while Ant-Man closes out the top 5 with $7.8 million and $147.4 million to date.

That's a wrap for this weekend. This upcoming week, look out for the release of the Henry Cavill action, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.; and the N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton.
