Police in New Jersey have opened an investigation to find out whether Fetty Wap assaulted an employee of a local supermarket.
According to NorthJersey.com, a 19-year-old cashier at a New Jersey ShopRite was assaulted last Friday (July 10), and he tells police he believed the rapper was part of a group that attacked him.
The report says a woman in the group slapped the male employee. Then three others joined in — one other female and two males, one he believes was Fetty Wap.
Police were called, and they observed minor swelling on his face. The employee declined to press charges at the time, but was told he could do so at a later date.
Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg tells the paper that detectives were working to identify the group.
“Maybe it looks like [Fetty Wap],” the chief said. “We can’t go by, uh, it looks like him. We need more evidence than that.”
