Hip-hop reigns supreme as the most listened to genre in the world, reports Complex.
Spotify analyzed 20 billion tracks and created a live map that shows listening trends in over 1,000 cities across the globe and almost every specialized city playlist includes, at least, one hip-hop track.
One map, in particular, shows the most popular song in each country. In the U.S., it’s Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen”, while Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” reigns in Canada and Brazil, and in Turkey, David Guetta and Nicki Minaj’s “Hey Mama” is the most popular track.
According to Spotify, the purpose of the map is to help users discover new music from various parts of the world. If you click on any city on the map, you’ll be prompted to a Spotify link that’ll take you to a playlist of the most popular songs in any given city.
