“Minions” Debuts With $115 Million At Box Office

The Minions had a huge box office weekend, topping all films with a $115.2 million debut.

The Universal Pictures release was the second-biggest opening ever for an animated film.

At #2 was Jurassic World, adding $18.1 million to bring its domestic haul to just over $590.6 million, while Disney's Inside Out was third with $17.1 million in its fourth weekend.

Terminator: Genisys fell to #4 with $13.7 million.

Other new films included the high school horror The Gallows, debuting in fifth place with $10 million, the sci-fi thriller Self/‚Äčless at #8 with $5.3 million.

That's a wrap for this weekend. This upcoming week, look out for the release of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Amy Schumer comedy, Trainwreck.
