After undergoing shoulder surgery that sidelines him for up to a year, Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he will return to the ring in 2016.
“I’m ready to fight, next year. I’m fine,” he told Viva.co.id, according to Sky Sports.
When it does return, it’s unclear who he will face. It’s unlikely he’ll square up against Floyd Mayweather, who he lost to via decision in May, because his final fight is scheduled for September.
Still, Pacquiao had some advice for his rival, who recently mocked him in a recent Youtube video.
“A real champion is gracious in both his words and conduct, someone who is a champion, not just in his chosen field of endeavour but in his own home and in his private life,” he said, per PhilBox.com.
