With the N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, coming in August, the world’s most dangerous group is poised for a reunion.
Ice Cube is set to reunite with his N.W.A. group members for a special performance at the BET Experience.
The rap legend, alongside members MC Ren and DJ Yella, will perform N.W.A. tracks from the group’s debut Straight Outta Compton for the first time in 15 years during a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 27.
“It’s just gonna be a great night,” Cube tells Rolling Stone. “We’re gonna be there with Snoop, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q. It’s just gonna be one of those ‘I wish I were there in L.A. nights.’ And we’re gonna rock that sh*t, no problem.
“I’m gonna bring out some of the old favorites,” says Cube. “We’re gonna bring back some memories up in there for sure.”
While Eazy-E has obviously passed, Dr. Dre is still alive, though he’s not officially confirmed to appear… but will he?
“If you wish upon a star, you never know. You never know. It’s like, I hope he blesses us with his presence,” Cube says. “But if not, I’ve been rockin’ for a long time without anybody. So whoever shows up, I’m still gonna rock. Whoever don’t show up, we still gonna rock.”
