Dame Dash recently recalled the stage presence his former partner Jay Z had in the past, essentially calling his live shows “terrible.”
During an interview posted Wednesday (June 3), the former Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder reflected on Hov’s stage presence in a video-conference with Dr. Boyce Watkins.
It began when Dame was asked why he didn’t rap, but would often go onstage with Jay Z.
“I didn’t want to rap. I though that sh*t was corny,” he explained. “You do anything for your business.
“Jay had no presence on that stage, period. He was terrible on stage, no personality. The Jay now has hit records. Before he had hit records, you have to have a personality on that stage.”
Dash goes on to say that Jay was an “introverted person” and didn’t talk very much.
“He’d be on the stage doing nothing,” Dash adds.
