With Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V album still without a release date, his young rap rival Young Thug says he’s tempted to release his own project with the same title… if the delay continues.
During a recent interview with NDO Radio, the Atlanta rapper revealed his plans, which includes one more mixtape before his official studio debut.
“I’ll drop probably one more mixtape before my album,” Thugger says. “The album is [on] iTunes. I’mma drop one more mixtape. I’ll probably name it Tha Carter V ’cause the original Carter V still ain’t came out yet. I don’t know what the f*ck they doing. They slow-poking. So I’mma put that mothaf*cka out for him.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Thugger revealed that he’s not officially signed with Birdman or Rich Gang. Instead, he manages himself and is signed to Atlantic Records.
“Nah,” he said when asked if he’s managed by Rich Gang. “I’ll manage myself. Nobody brought me here, so nobody can take me there. I manage myself. I’m signed with Atlantic… I’m only signed to Atlantic. Birdman is my homie.”
