Rick Ross has responded to 50 Cent’s claims that the Miami rapper leaked a sex tape featuring his baby’s mother back in 2009 that he’s being sued for.
Last week, 50 filed a lawsuit claiming he’s not responsible for the release of a video featuring Ross’ ex-girlfriend Lastonia Leviston, which hit the Internet at the peak of the beef between the two rappers. The tape, which stars Leviston with another man, leaked onto one of 50’s websites and circulated the Internet.
She later sued 50 Cent for allegedly distributing the video, which was edited to include him as as a wig-wearing narrator.
Ross (real name: William Roberts) released a statement, via his attorney Xavier Donaldson, calling Fif’s lawsuit an “attempt to draw attention” to his failing “entertainment career.”
“The recent lawsuit filed by Curtis Jackson against Mr. William Roberts is clearly another attempt to draw attention to his descending entertainment career and one of several desperate, last minute attempts he’s made to avoid and deflect legal and financial responsibility for his own actions related to the pending New York City civil trial in which he’s a defendant,” Donaldson said.
“The New York City lawsuit was filed against Curtis Jackson five years ago. Mr. Roberts was neither named as a defendant nor legally joined by Mr. Jackson in that suit. If and/or when Mr. Jackson properly serves Mr. Roberts, we will aggressively address and defend against these frivolous and futile claims.”
