A year after being drafted into the league, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been selected for the cover of EA Sports’ Madden NFL 16.
The second-year pro won a fan vote for the annual honor, beating out the likes of the Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski, the Steelers’ Antonio Brown and the Cardinals’ Patrick Peterson.
At 22, Beckham becomes the youngest player ever featured on the Madden cover. Vince Young was 24 when he was landed on the cover of Madden NFL 08, which was released in August 2007.
Man I just personally wanna thank all the love and support from everybody for voting today !! It's mean so much to be on the cover of Madden

In his rookie season, Beckham caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns, despite missing the first four games. He also earned the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Hopefully, he can repeat the success next season, despite the “Madden Curse.” Past cover players, including Adrian Peterson, Peyton Hillis and Brett Favre, have struggled in the seasons in which they were on the cover. In the previous decade, Marshall Faulk, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Donovan McNabb and Shaun Alexander suffered serious injuries in their cover seasons.
