After three albums, DJ Khaled becomes the latest artist on the Cash Money Records roster to jump ship.
During a stop by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club morning show, the Miami DJ revealed that he’s not signed to Birdman’s label anymore.
“I’m not signed to Cash Money at all. I’ve been off for a minute,” Khaled revealed. “It’s not that I’m here to promote that I’ve been off. That’s family. But, nah, it’s just We The Best. Nothing negative, everything’s beautiful.
“There was never a hold up on the album,” he cotinued. “I wanted to drop the album last year. The only reason I didn’t drop it last year, I felt like, I wanted to give the people more music. Sometimes when you drop the album, the commercial stops.”
Khaled also explained that he hasn’t chosen sides in the beef between Cash Money head Birdman and artist Lil Wayne.
“First of all, [Lil Wayne and Birdman], that’s family to me. Lil Wayne, that’s my brother. Birdman, that’s family. At the end of the day, that’s not my business. I do pray for greatness and everything work out. It’s not my business. At the end of the day, those two people know who I am, and I don’t get involved. I pray for the best, and for the culture alone.”
Khaled is currently prepping his next album, entitled I Changed Alot, coming soon.
