Avengers: Age Of Ultron

It’s still the Age Of Ultron at the box office, as the Avengers sequel tops the box office yet again with $77.2 million this weekend.

The film has earned over $312.9 million at the domestic box office, in just 10 days at theaters, tying with The Dark Knight to become the second fastest film to do so. Even with the success, it’s still behind the record-setting 2012 original, The Avengers, which made $103.1 million in its second weekend in theaters and had a domestic total of $373 million at the same point in the cycle.

Behind Ultron was the Sofia Vergara/Reese Witherspoon comedy Hot Pursuit, which debuted at #2 with $13.3 million. In the film, an uptight and by-the-book cop (Witherspoon) tries to protect the outgoing widow (Vergara) of a drug boss, as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.

The Age of Adaline held at #3 with $5.6 million, Furious 7 falls to #4 with $5.2 million, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 closes out the top 5 with $5.1 million.

That’s a wrap for this weekend. This upcoming week, look out for the release of Mad Max: Fury Road and the comedy Pitch Perfect 2.
