FOX has picked up a series based on the 2002 Tom Cruise sci-fi, Minority Report.
According to The Verge, the network ordered the pilot in January and have given it the green light for the first season.
The show will be set 10 years after the events of the big screen film, which saw the pre-crime unit dismantled. It will follow one of the freed precogs, who is attempting to live a normal life, but is still “haunted by visions of the future.”
In the series, the precog meets a detective who might find a use for his abilities.
It is being produced by Steven Spielberg’s company, Amblin TV. After seeing the pilot, Spielberg opted to take an executive producer credit.
So far, the cast includes Meagan Good, Stark Sands, Wilmer Valderrama and Daniel London.
