A block party si coming to Los Angeles, with acts such as Talib Kweli, OverDoz and a number of other rising indie artists.
Block Party LA takes place on May 9th, and will take over the entire block of 3200 Union Pacific Ave in Los Angeles, between Grande Vista Ave and East Pico Blvd. for the second installment of the concert series.
As she did in 2014, Block Party LA founder Ashley Glaspie curates a line-up that includes Kweli and OverDoz, alongside Curtiss King, Preston Harris, Dean Risko, Alex Isley, Ramaj Eroc, The League, NameBrand, Jake&Papa, Craig Gillespie, Tassnata + Junia-T and Rook, to name a few.
In addition to musical performances, the 2015 experience will include a Health and Wellness station, Interactive stations, Food Trucks, and much more.
“My goal with Block Party LA is to give independent artist a solid foundation and space where artist have the opportunity to leave a legacy,” said Glaspie. “I was raised to give back and with that instilled in me combined with my love for music. Block Party LA has become my way of giving back to the community and helping my generation to feel empowered to chase their dreams.”
A portion of the proceeds raised during Block Party LA 2015 will be donated to the Children’s Defense Fund scholarship program “Beat the Odds”, whose mission is to not leave one child behind.
