Dame Dash’s ongoing partnership with Kanye West continues. After partnering on the Loisaidas film and coming together for a planned acquisition of Karmaloop, the pair are set to work together on GLC’s upcoming album.
Both Dame and Ye will reportedly co-executive produce the Chicago rapper’s upcoming LP, The Book Of St. Ism.
The album will be the first from GLC since his 2010 debut, Love, Life, and Loyalty, which was also largely produced by Kanye West as well.
“GLC is the best at what he does,” Dame Dash said in a statement. “When he played me his music, I knew I wanted to put this album together and I gave Kanye a call and brought him in.”
GLC and Ye first linked up more than 20 years ago, when they were part of the Chicago group the Go Getters together, alongside another rapper named Timmy G and producer Arrowstar. The group’s album never saw the light of day, but when Kanye took off, he would sign GLC to G.O.O.D. Music, which he’s since left.
Speaking about his next full-length, GLC said: “The ism teaches kids and adults to apply themselves and to supply their wealth all while understanding that the only limitations you’ll ever have are those that you place on yourself.”
