It’s Throwback Thursday, so here’s a blast from the past.

Following the announcement that underground rap group Non Phixion is set to reunite for their “20th Anniversary Tour” next month, group member DJ Eclipse blesses us with this throwback footage of a performance dating back to 1999.

Set at Tramps in NYC, the show took place during Prince Paul release party for his classic album, A Prince Among Thieves. Enjoy.

A month after the release of Prince Paul’s “A Prince Among Thieves” dropped there was a show at Tramps to celebrate it’s release. Not only did some of the guests from the album perform, but there was also a slew of other groups that rocked as well. This is the first of 3 clips that I’ll post from that night. Unfortunately I was standing a little too close to the speaker so some of the audio isn’t the greatest, but the performances still shine. Many thanks to Peter Oasis and Zvi from LiveNDIrect for throwing these shows and always making sure to put on some of the local NYC indie artists that were making much noise during this era. In this clip you’ve got Non Phixion, Missin’ Linx and Special Ed. A good example of the coverage of Hip Hop you would get at a Tramps show. Stay tuned for more performances from this night.
