The numbers are in. Kendrick Lamar’s first week numbers for his sophomore effort, To Pimp A Butterfly, is expected to top 325,000, according to Hits Daily Double.
His Sales Plus Streaming figure is expected to reach somewhere around 350,000 to 375,000, making his album the #1 album in the country when the next sales tally is released next Wednesday (March 25).
By comparison, his 2012 debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city, sold 242,122 in its first week in stores.
To Pimp A Butterfly was released on iTunes on Sunday (March 15), nine days before its scheduled March 24 release date, which could of affected sales figures.
Additionally, the album set a Single Day Album Streams record on Spotify, garnering more than 9.6 million listens on Monday (March 16), its first day of availability.
