BMW has recently unveiled the 2016 1-Series, which gets a complete facelift.

Available in new 3-door and 5-door models, the all-new 1-Series boasts a revised engine line-up and additional measures to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

The engine range abouts three and four cylinders options, with the M135i’s topping the range with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six, which gains an extra 7hp and now delivers 322hp. This allows the RWD version to hit 100km/h in 4.9 sec for the 8-speed automatic model, while the all-wheel xDrive edition that is offered exclusively with the auto box, does the same in 4.7 seconds.

The exterior has been updated with redesigned headlamps, which now boasts a more rectangular shape and a lower profile, while at the same time, stretching the double kidney grilles and re-profiling the bumper. Also, the headlamps now come with standard LED daytime driving lights, while full-LED headlights are available as an option for the first time.

The rear lights have also been completely remodelled. They now display the “L” shape characteristic of BMW models and reveal LED-powered lights. Elsewhere, the sophisticated design of the upper centre console with the controls for the radio and climate control system is foremost in accentuating the premium ambience on board the new BMW 1 Series.

The 2016 BMW 1-Series range will hit dealers later this year.
