LeSean McCoy and the Bills have agreed to a new five-year contract that is set to go into effect when he’s traded to Buffalo by the Eagles, reports ESPN.
The new contract will add two years to the 26-year-old’s existing contract.
The Bills and Eagles agreed to a trade last week, in which Buffalo acquires McCoy, as part of deal involving linebacker Kiko Alonso. However, the deal cannot be formally completed or announced until the 2015 league season begins Tuesday (March 10).
McCoy has the NFL’s third-most rushing yards (6,792) and fourth-most rushing touchdowns (44) since the Eagles drafted him in the second round in 2009. Last season, he rushed for 1,319 yards, third-most in the NFL.
