It appears that everyone is distancing themselves from Birdman and Cash Money Records.
Obviously, everyone knows Lil Wayne and Tyga are fighting for their release from the label, but recent affiliate Rich Homie Quan is now stepping away from his association with Birdman’s Rich Gang movement.
Although the Atlanta singer wasn’t actually signed to Cash Money, he was tightly affiliated with Rich Gang over the past year, alongside newcomer Young Thug. However, during a recent interview with Atlanta radio show, the Durtty Boyz, he said he’s focusing on himself.
“I have been focusing more on myself,” Quan said. “I’ve stepped away from the Rich Gang a little bit, just to get back to Quan. People want Quan back, man. It was cool for the moment.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Quan said he has more than 300 songs in the can, and is planning to drop a new mixtape with a new sound.
It’s only because I feel as if it’s been so long since I’ve dropped a mixtape… I wanna give em Quan,” he explained. “It’s time for Atlanta, and the world, to know that Quan has improved and it’s a new sound. I feel as if I can’t lose. This new sound, I feel as if I have me a Grammy.”
