Alaska Becomes Third State To Legalize Recreational Marijuana

Alaska became the third state to fully legalize marijuana on Tuesday (Feb. 24), thanks to a voter initiative.

The vote to legalize recreational marijuana won 53-47 percent last November. However, smoking in public is banned, and will carry a $100 fine.

Anchorage, Alaska reporter Charlo Greene, now CEO of the Alaska Cannabis Club, famously quit her job during a live broadcast, when said she'd be dedicating her career to legalizing marijuana... and she did so with the "F" bomb, helping a clip of her on-air resignation go viral.

Greene plans a celebratory toke at 4:20 p.m.
