Kanye West had an hour-long conversation with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club on Friday morning (Feb. 20), during which he revealed that he and Drake once planned a joint album together.
When talking about his recently debuted track called “Wolves,” featuring Sia and Vic Mensa, the rapper revealed that the title came from a joint album he was planning with Drizzy, also called Wolves. The project, obviously, never materialized.
“I’mma just gonna go ‘head and say it, where the ‘Wolves’ song came from. I’mma say it, because maybe this will promote it happening, so I’mma go ahead and put it out in the real world,” Ye began. “The ‘Wolves’ song came from a conversation that me and Drake had, where we was going to do an album together and the album was called Wolves.”
He goes on to say that the pair started the process, but other things got in the way.
“I asked him and we talked about it and we said, ‘Yeah we was going to do it,” Kanye revealed. “Actually, he was sending beats back and forth… That’s what happened. Me and Jay start talking about Watch The Throne, then Drake went and did all the records with Wayne and did the tour,” he explained.
Will it ever happen? Ye says maybe. “I dunno. It might happen since I threw it out there,” the rapper concluded.
