Kanye West’s vision to change the world through design, via his creative agency DONDA, has yet to be fully realized since launching the company in 2012.

He’s made some strides in music with a number of high-profile album covers — Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint, Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being II and Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name.

But, what if he was given a shot in the movie biz? Would his minimalistic approach translate for movie posters?

In honor of the impending Oscars, Complex recreated the eight best picture nominees, as if DONDA designed them, from American Sniper to Selma.
