Although Kanye West had previously criticized Nike for not making his Air Yeezy sneakers widely available, his recent release with Adidas, the Yeezy 750 Boost, was released in limited quantities, which has driven up the pricepoint on the reseller market.
Pairs of the Air Yeezy “Red October” has sold on eBay for as much as $15,000, despite originally selling for just $245 USD.
Now, with pairs of the Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost already sold out at most retailers, after releasing around 9,000 pairs, sneaker collectors are clamouring to get their hands on a pair of their own, resulting in the shoe already going for nearly $2,000 just two days after release.
Ye has promised that production will eventually catch up with the demand, telling everyone to be patient.
At this point, Kanye West can be compared to a politician, who makes promises that he doesn’t keep.
