Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin is expected to be sidelined through the All-Star break to recover from surgery to his right elbow.
According to ESPN.com, the 25-year-old forward has a staph infection in his elbow and is scheduled for surgery Monday (Feb. 9) to remove it. He’s expected to miss, at least, three games before the Clippers determine a timetable for his return.
Griffin is the Clippers leading scorer this season, averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and a career-high 5.1 assists per game. The team currently sits at sixth place in the Western Conference standings with a 33-18 record.
