George Lucas Says Disney Didn’t Use His Ideas For New “Star Wars”

When Disney acquired Lucasfilm, along with the Star Wars franchise, in 2012 for $4 billion, George Lucas gave the entertainment giant his scripts for future films.

However, the filmmaker says Disney is not using his vision for the upcoming movies in the franchise.

During an interview with Cinema Blend, Lucas was asked if he had come up with any ideas for Episode VII, he said no. “The ones that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn’t really want to do those. So they made up their own. So it’s not the ones that I originally wrote,” he explained.

Despite the revelation, Lucas didn’t go into detail about his early ideas for Episode VII.
