Q&A: Chris Hemsworth Tells Us Why Blackhat Is A Must See

Legendary's Blackhat is slated to be the cyber thriller of the year. Directed by Michael Mann (Heat), it casts actors Chris Hemsworth (best known for his role as Thor), Tang Wei and Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder) in world of global cybercrime.

The film follows a furloughed convict and his American and Chinese partners, as they hunt a high level cyber criminal network across the globe from Chicago to Hong Kong. We recently had the opportunity to sit with the film's cast and ask a few questions. Read on to see what they had to say.

How important was it to capture the realness of the movie?

Michael Mann: It was very important to me that we get as much authenticity as possible. We brought in real "hackers" and real cops to help make sure we caught that. Even the scenery. We didn't want to rely on green screen much. We shot at these places..."

Working alongside real life "hackers" did you guys pick up anything?

Viola Davis: Just that I'm a sitting duck.

Why you should watch Blackhat over other movies out right now?

Chris Hemsworth: The combination of themes that are in this film, there’s action, but there’s romance, it’s thriller and a thinking movie... And as much detail as Michael Mann ever put into anything, if you have any interest in this subject or good story, this is it.

Blackhat hacks into theaters on Friday (January 16).
